Goals of the Foundation
- in full accordance with the sectoral strategy, the cultivation and preservation of Hungarian healthcare industry traditions and the promotion of the sustainability of the sector;
- non-profit healthcare industry database construction and market research analysis related to improving the export market position of Hungarian healthcare industry products and services, through the competitiveness analysis of SME and public sector instruments in the international context;
- healthcare industry branding to promote the country image and supporting the market organisation and external marketing activities of SME and public sector tools in Hungarian healthcare industry.
Activities of the Foundation in a broad international context
- establishing and operating an inventory of assets in the international healthcare industry (non-profit database construction);
- establishing an international healthcare monitoring system and, within the framework of that, organising and implementing decision support programmes, systems and analyses in healthcare policy, healthcare economics and public health, and the wide-scale presentation and dissemination of information on these (a healthcare observatory based on innovative database analysis methodologies);
- organisation and implementation of international education and training programmes in health care and healthcare tourism.
Activities of the foundation in a Hungarian and Central-East European context:
- domestic and international marketing activity supporting cost-efficient international market organisation for and promoting establishing the export market presence of the Hungarian SME sector;
- marketing support for the comprehensive branding and image construction for and export of Hungarian products and services by establishing international distribution and information points;
- knowledge-based backing for health care and healthcare tourism services across borders (branding, quality assurance, IT, etc.); human resource management.
Related to the above activities, the Foundation
- collects donations from sponsors;
- participates in tenders with thematic clusters and as a participant of international consortiums;
- also pursues business activities to facilitate the implementation of its goals.
Officers of the Foundation:
His major areas of interest and research are cartilage surface creation, the application of autologous osteochondral transplantation and cartilage cell transplantation in the clinical practice, primary and revision surgery for ACL and PCL deficient knees and hips and knee replacement surgery with minimal invasion. He is known for the orthopaedic intervention with the name mosaicplasty, developed by Dr Hangody and spread all over the world.
Prof. Hangody is a guest lecturer and examiner at several universities in Hungary and abroad; he has delivered lectures at over 300 professional conferences. He has performed a considerable number of live surgeries and is the owner of several patents. He is the author or co-author of almost 300 scientific articles, publications and books and has various professional awards and acknowledgements.
He takes part in editing several Hungarian and foreign journals of the profession and is a member, board member or chairman of several professional colleges and societies.
Péter Gőczey: general secretary of the Foundation
Experts of the Foundation:
He has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of health care systems, health policy and healthcare management. He was in leadership position at a number of international health care companies and organizations. He acted as advisor for governments of several countries such as member states of the European Union, South-Eastern European states, Turkey, Russia and Central Asia, for different international organizations (European Commission, World Bank, WHO) and for pharmaceutical companies.
Currently, he is a visiting professor at the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Public Health; he was professor at the Healthcare Management Center of the Medical School of University of Belgrade and at the Faculty of Management in Public Health and Pharmacy at the Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty.
He is a member of different international healthcare management and health policy reviews’ editorial board.
He is involved in several researches in the field of international healthcare systems. He is author of publications released in international professional journals and is a frequent speaker in professional conferences.
László Puczkó: medical tourism specialist
László Puczkó acquired his first degree as an economist specialised in tourism and logistics from Budapest University of Economics in 1993. In 2007-2010, he was a member of the board of directors at the Travel and Tourism Research Association Europe Chapter. Since 2006, he has been president of the Association of Hungarian Tourism Consultants.
He is presently Head of the Tourism and Catering Institute of the University of Applied Sciences, Budapest, in addition to which he teaches at several higher education institutions specialised in tourism also abroad (e.g. in Finland and Estonia). He is the (co)-author of numerous specialised books (e.g. Egészségturizmus, Health and Wellness Tourism, Tourism in New Europe) as well as articles published in technical journals.
László started his professional tourism and travel consultancy career at the Tourism Research Group, to continue at KPMG’s Travel, Leisure and Tourism Group where he experienced what working for a multinational corporation and in an international environment is like. In 2004, he was a founding member of Xellum Kft.
His fields of specialisation are: research, strategic and tactic planning, product development and experience design, effect analyses and tourism marketing (health, wellness, spa and medical tourism, ecotourism as well as specialised and thematic tourism products). He is an internationally acknowledged expert; he lectures at various international scientific conferences and congresses.
Dr. Rita Kövi: physician, health economics expert
For 10 years beginning in 2000, she worked for the National Health Insurance Fund (OEP), in the fields of professional policy and financing. She has had several scientific publications and is a regular speaker at conferences in Hungary and abroad. In 2003 she made a degree as a physician economist at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of Szeged University of Sciences, where she was an external lecturer later on. Since the beginning of 2010, she has been course leader in the major Health policy, planning and financing at the Social Sciences Faculty of ELTE University.
She is a member of several professional organisations, an honorary member of the board of Medicina 2000 Association of Polyclinics and Outpatient Care Centres, and member of the advisory boards of the Hungarian Health Economics Association and the Professional College Management and Health Economic Council.
In her free time she likes travelling; as a leisure activity in winter, she enjoys skiing.
Gabriella Tánczos-Székely acquired her first degree as a tourism economist in Gyöngyös in 2004. Interested in the field of quality assurance, she joined TÜV Rheinland Hungary, where she gained experience and qualified as an auditor with the International Register of Certificated Auditors. Pursuing her ambitions, she became Manager of the Lifecare Division of TÜV Rheinland.
